Description
Homeland Creamery is owned and operated by Chris and Jayne and David and Terry Bowman. We are the sixth generation of farmers on the same homestead that have operated this dairy since the 1930?s . The herd has grown from a half dozen to over 200 cows now. We milk the cows with automatic and computerized milking machines in our milk parlor. Our cows are never given artificial growth hormones and are pasture raised and fed with hay, grains and feed grown right on our farmland. The cows are healthy and the milk is natural in quality and so fresh. We pasteurize our milk the old fashion way, using vats for a creamier richer taste! We process and bottle right on our own farm. That gives us total control over our quality, no shipping the milk somewhere else for processing. We supply the local area with milk products of the highest quality, freshness, good taste and free from added hormones and antibiotics. You can purchase our products at our Creamery store or retail stores.

Hours
Children should have the opportunity to learn that our food (including milk) is produced on a farm and is not just a product of the local grocery store. Our goal is to make sure that your trip to our farm is a good learning experience. We are proud to share this opportunity with you so you can see your local dairy farm in action. Thank you for supporting your local farmer!
WHAT WILL YOUR TOUR INCLUDE?
On the Dairy TourcYour actual tour (about 1-1/2 hours) will be divided into several stages, starting with a hayride (20 min.). You will see the beautiful view of our family farm & crops from the cows in the pasture to baby calves being bottle fed, hand milk our gsimulatedh cow, and get a first-hand look at the milk parlor (no live cows being milked at this time). The group will get a better understanding of how milk gets from the cow to the grocery store. Everyone will sample our delicious creamery made ice cream. We will gladly work with the group to customize the tour to the appropriate age level. (Teachers, ask about our educational CD we offer w/ the tours) MUST MAKE RESERVATIONS IN ADVANCE.
WHEN ARE TOURS? (NO WEEKEND TOURS OFFERED) No tours July 4th.
Tour days are Monday - Friday @ 10:00 a.m. (March - November). Special requests please ask. Our tours are educational-based and lots of fun for all age levels. Just tell us your needs & expectations and we can alter to accommodate. MUST MAKE RESERVATIONS by calling Vicky @ (336)617-5618 or EMAIL (see above).
